Graduation Gift Ideas 2020

Image
The class of 2020 has gone through a less than ideal senior year. Whether they were graduating from high school, college or a graduate program, many of them were not able to experience their big day nor the excitement that surrounds it. While we can host virtual ceremonies and at home proms, the feeling will not be the same and it is sad to know that they will never get to make those memories. Graduation or not, their accomplishments are not in vain so as their families and friends, the least we can do is make this time as memorable as we can. Recreate those experiences at home and let them know you are proud of them because they have worked so hard to get to this point. Aside from restrategizing the celebrations for the class of 2020, nothing says congratulations like a gift! I personally am not the best gift giver. I am so committed to finding the perfect gift that sometimes I often overthink the situation and end up settling on money or a gift card because I couldn't deci...

Your Guide To Securing That Last-Minute Grade Boost

Image
It’s the last week of the semester and your grades aren’t quite where you would like them to be. Although you have already calculated that if you get good grades on the last few assignments and a certain grade on the final, it still seems like a stretch and you aren’t quite sure you will pull through. Right now you have an 89.9% and you know that means you have to get grades higher than that to boost it. Still unsure if that is possible, you begin panicking because you don’t know what to do. We have all been there before! Whether you had a 69.9 and needed a 70 to pass, a 79.9 and really wanted that B or an 89.9 and needed all A’s, nobody is perfect and sometimes we fall short. When that happens, what do we do? Most of us email our teachers right away and ask for a little extra credit but more than often, they aren't as willing to help our grade as they were to ruin it. Although many schools have implemented a new pass/fail system, some people may need the letter grade to boost...

Saving Money With Target Circle

Image
If I had to choose only one store to go to for the rest of my life for everything I would need, it would definitely be Target. From food, clothes, electronics, toiletries and even home decor, you name it they have it. Now I may be a little biased considering the fact that I work there but for the record, I was a big fan even before I was employed by them. Target Circle is a free, loyalty program that offers deals and discounts to its users. The app is pretty easy to use and you can add the deals that appeal to you. Today I am planning to go on a Target run and I am going to show you how I prepare for my trip and how much money I end up saving and you could save to! Step 1: Plan your run Before I even open the app, I make a list of the things I need and plan on buying. This is usually just a draft because many times I end up buying additional things and opting out of others. I simply create a new note in my phone for easy access as I am shopping. Step 2: Look for ...

Building Credit As A College Student

Image
I don’t know about you but financial literacy was not a requirement for me to graduate from high school, nor is it for college. Without the knowledge I need to succeed financially in the real world, I have in a way been set up for failure. If it wasn’t for my parents and the internet, I would have probably made a bad financial decision by now and been in a lot of trouble. Lucky for me, I now have the tools I need to succeed on my own post-college and now its my turn to help someone else. While you may still feel unsure about some of these financial topics like taxes, mortgages, budgeting and debt management, I am going to give you a few suggestions on how we can tackle the issue of credit and begin building good credit as a college student.  Make payments on your student loans while still in school If you are not sure what a credit score is, it is a number, usually between 300 and 850, that measures your ability to repay debt. The higher the number, the better the score...
